Shinkirou.net was born on June 17, 2007, and since then it's pretty much been the dumping ground for random projects, shrines, fanlistings or retarded websites that I spontaneously sign myself up for. The domain's been around for quite awhile, but only in recent years does it feel like I've settled in and started putting it to good use, so I'm happy to finally have some projects to maintain and work on! The name “shinkirou” is Japanese for the word mirage, inspired by a song from my favorite musical artist: Nakjima Takui’s Shinkirou. To be quite honest, there's no deeper meaning for my choosing it other than I really just love the song and Takui's upbeat music and amazing lyrics are really inspiring: you can read a translation of Shinkirou here or listen to the song itself via Youtube.

Heroine

Despite my tl;dr nature, I'm pretty notorious for completely leaving the "profile" out of the profile section and replacing it with something else ambiguous, but I'll do my best to be a narcissist for 5 minutes and end that trend here. I go by Aku: workaholic designer by day, invincible hero by night (but probably the snarky, nose-picking, lazy one). I like pushing pixels, stuffing my face, buttonmashing, having karaoke sessions in my car during rush hour, shounen jump marathons and snapping together plastic robots. I frequently spend my paychecks on a permed samurai and a galactic songtress. I’m also a pretty nice person despite my mad intimidation skillz, so don’t be afraid to say hi!

If you want to get in touch with me, you can do so via e-mail! The good ol fashioned way! I used to have a contact form, but it send all the e-mails to my spam folder, so I got rid of it. Put some hair on your chest and e-mail me like a real man!

Captain of the First Unit

The current layout is version 10 of shinkirou.net and features Okita Souji from the otome game turned-anime-turned-musou-beat-'em-up-turned-embarassing-pillowcase, Hakuouki. This redesign happened in a very spur of the moment kind of manner (as usual), although the domain was really in need of a revamp, so I guess it came with good timing. You may or may not notice that this layout is quite a bit girlier than my usual layouts: it was designed for Remixers' February + March Lovestruck Challenge--so I decided to show a bit of my girly side!

To be honest, love is not something that is very easy for me to express, and being feminine is something that's even harder for me--but occasionally otome games can extract that side of me pretty well LOL. I'm a sucker for characters like Okita, and traditionally he's always been my favoite member of the Shisengumi, so I'm not really surprised he ended up my favorite in this game as well. Playing his route had me rolling around in all my kimoi otome game playing glory.
